With many questioning their financial future, psychics are seeing a major boom in business. Some are so busy, they say they can barely keep up with the workload.
In better times, psychics say a majority of their business comes from women looking into the future, wanting to know about their prospects of love and children.
These days, their crystal balls seek dollar signs. Men and women alike are anxious to discover when they are going to get that new job, a raise in salary or a break on their debt, according to local psychics.
"They're panicking, 'Am I going to be laid-off from this job? Am I going to be fired? Am I going to have enough money to have my children go to college?'" said psychic Valerie Morrison.
Morrison said the growing concern over finances has led to a lack of days off for her and other psychics.
"We are completely overwhelmed," she said.
Morrison predicts an improvement in the economy starting in April with a more positive change picking up over the summer.
