Another arrest in what has been called the "Bonnie and Clyde" case of Utah County. And many are still asking the question: How could the young couple be accused of such a crime?
Josh and Kylee Rich are both expected to appear before a federal judge Wednesday morning to face bank robbery charges against them. Josh is charged with three counts, Kylee with one count. If convicted, both could end up behind bars for a very long time.
"She's just a sweetheart," said Sharyn Rich. "And he and Kylee met and fell in love."
At first look, they're a sweet, innocent, and beautiful looking young couple, who police say were anything but.
"This was a very dangerous situation going on and it's very nice to get these people off the street," said Pleasant Grove Police Department Captain Cody Cullimore.
The short lived bandit story all started back on Nov. 10, 2006, at a Wells Fargo Bank in Lindon. Investigators say Josh Rich robbed it at gunpoint. Seven days later the couple married.
Police say they used the money to head to Las Vegas and Palm Springs for their honeymoon. Ten days later police say Josh was back inside the same bank robbing it a second time.
The couple then headed back to Las Vegas for another getaway. Then last Saturday morning, police say Josh entered the same bank a third time.
Kylee was allegedly waiting in the getaway car.
But this time the money was for something other then Las Vegas. Police say it was for heroin.
"The reason, we're told the third robbery happened, is because they ran out of money and they ran out of drugs," said Cullimore.
Doug Rich and Sharyn Rich are Josh's brother and sister.
"I didn't think he would do it, but [it's] typical Josh. He's got to go big," said Sharyn. "Josh loves money."
"Like, he doesn't want to work for his money. He wants to live like a rock star and not do anything for it," said Doug.
Police have also arrested a third suspect.
Twenty-one-year-old Roland Thompson, who is already in jail for another crime, is accused of helping Josh in the first two bank robberies.
It's the end of the line for all three bandits, according to authorities.
"It breaks my heart," said Sharyn.
"I'm just glad he's not on the run anymore," said Doug.
"Very good ending for law enforcement," said Cullimore.
Josh just got out of prison back in March for making counterfeit money.
But it's Kylee that Josh's family says they really feel sorry for.
They say she's gone from a sweet girl with no record to a woman facing up to 25 years in prison.
