Study: Body Odor Boosts Sexual Arousal In Women
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) ―
A new study suggests that the sweat of a man may help get women in the mood.
Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley found that a compound in male perspiration changes hormonal levels in heterosexual women and boosts their sexual arousal.
Their findings were published this week in The Journal of Neuroscience - and just in time for Valentine's Day, which is this Wednesday.
The researchers say the study offers the first direct evidence that humans secrete a scent that can affect the physiology of the opposite sex.
The study was conducted last year and involved 48 UC Berkeley undergraduate women who took 20 sniffs from a bottle containing a compound related to testosterone.
