NJ Blogger Takes On Jimmy Fallon For Webby Award
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
What happens when the best short films in the world all come together on one website?
In a word, magic. Oh, and a Webby nod.
As the creator of
The Best Short Films in The World, New Jersey born blogger Bobby Miller was honored with his first Webby Award Nomination as part of the Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences international awards show.
The competition honors excellence on the internet, including websites, interactive advertising and online film and video. Miller's site will be judged in the Best Variety Show/Film & Video category.
The weekly web series, which features a variety of international short films, is written, produced and hosted by Miller in his apartment.
Once the underdog among the competition, Miller is now going head to head with NBC's
Late Night With Jimmy Fallon for the 2009 Webby Award.
Voting closed on April 30th, but Miller seemed confident he was in the lead.
"Last I checked, we were about 8-percent ahead in the voting ... and that was around 11:59 p.m. on April 30th," joked Miller.
Of course, we won't know if Miller's hit the "blogosphere big time" until the winner is announced on May 5th.
