A student at the University
of Pennsylvania was charged after
allegedly stalking female students at the school and absconding with several
pairs of their undergarments.
Diexia Wang, a senior at UPenn, was been charged with burglary, criminal
trespassing, harassment, stalking, and theft after he allegedly stole underwear
and high-end purses from several women.
Wang is also accused of stalking a female who lived in the Harold C. Mayer
Residence Hall.
Several female students familiar with the case told CBS 3 Wang allegedly stole
their friend's dorm key and entered her room. While the alleged target was not
home, her roommate was and immediately called police.
The female told her friends Wang had wandered into her unlocked dorm room in October,
telling her he was waiting for friends. She said she was unclear of who he was until
his recent arrest.
Police believe Wang may also be responsible for at least half a dozen bizarre
thefts on campus.
Students on the Ivy League campus were stunned by the
allegations.
"I don't feel particularly safe because I don't lock my door and I know
most college kids don't, so something like that, it could lead to bigger
instances," student Christine Guo said.
By federal law, the school is not allowed to comment on Wang's status as a
student.
Wang was freed on bail after his parents posted ten percent of $200,000.
