Coast Guard Rescues Injured Barge Worker
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
A man working aboard a barge in the Delaware River had to be flown to a Philadelphia hospital by the U.S. Coast Guard after suffering a head injury in a fall.
According to the Coast Guard, the 61-year-old man was working on a barge when he fell into the river near Mantua Creek at about 6:45 a.m.
The victim suffered a serious head injury and had to be flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Neither the victim's condition, nor his identity was immediately available.
