Philadelphia Unveils Offender Tracking System

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Victims of violent crimes in the city of Philadelphia can now find out when their attacker will be back on the streets.

District Attorney Lynne Abraham unveiled the city's new automated victim notification system Wednesday.

Users can track the status of an offender online or register to be notified with the person is released, transferred or escapes.

Previously, prison staffers notified victims of the offender's status.
