Former Coach Charged With Soliciting Sex From Teen
NORRISTOWN (CBS 3) ―
A former Montgomery County high school swim coach has been arrested and charged with soliciting sex from a minor.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said Michael Dolan, the former girls swim coach at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, was arrested after allegedly soliciting oral sex from a 15-year-old on his swim team. Dolan allegedly sent the girl a text message offering $200 for the act.
"This is a person who, as a coach, was entrusted with caring for young people," said District Attorney Risa Ferman. "He had the obligation to teach them."
Police say Dolan's alleged victim did not know who was sending the text messages. Investigators eventually tracked the messages back to the coach.
"He was soliciting this teenage girl for sex. He was looking for his own sexual gratification and he was out to bring her along," said Ferman.
Authorities said Dolan has coached at multiple swim clubs.
"We are concerned that there may be other young girls out there that he has been suggestive with, or that in fact, he may have been involved with," said Ferman.
Dolan previously worked as a contract employee at the high school and is no longer employed by the district.
