Firefighter Injured In Center City Blaze

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A Philadelphia firefighter was injured while responding to a house fire in Center City Friday.

Crews were called to the 1200 block of South Street after the rear deck of a residence burst into flames just after 12 a.m.

One firefighter suffered unknown injuries while trying to control the blaze and was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital.

Three families were safely evacuated from the home and are now in the care of the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
