Snowflakes Fall In Parts Of The Region
PHILADELPHIA (AP) ―
The Philadelphia area received its first significant snowfall of the season.
Snow began coming down in some areas before dawn, making major roads like Route 309 north of the city very slick. Police were called to several fender-bender accidents.
Since then, the snow has been falling off and on in other areas.
Chester County had a half-inch to an inch in some places -- around Exton and West Chester.
State Department of Transportation trucks were out in full force to salt the roads. Dozens of minor accidents were reported due to the slick highways.
Some drivers in Berks and Schuylkill counties reported being stuck because of snow and ice Thursday evening.
