Small Plane Makes Crash Landing In Camden Co. Yard

WINSLOW TWP, N.J. (CBS 3) ― An experimental small plane was forced to make a crash landing in front yard of a Camden County home Sunday.

An ultra-light single-engine plane was forced to make a crash landing in front of a home on New Freedom Road in Winslow Township at about 8 p.m. The plane was a short distance from Camden County Airport in nearby Berlin.

The pilot, 70-year-old Ronald Miller, said he was returning from a flight to the shore when he ran out of fuel. The plane plummeted, tearing through trees and telephone wires before losing a wing and coming to rest in the front yard.

Miller was uninjured in the crash. A passenger in the plane, 67-year-old Lenora Layton, reportedly suffered a minor leg injury, but declined medical treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.
