Overnight Violence Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Wounded

One person was killed and a second was injured after a pair of separate shootings in Philadelphia overnight.

Police said a man was shot in the head on the 1800 block of Cecil B. Moore Street at about 11 p.m. Sunday.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several hours later in the Hunting Park section of the city, police said gunfire left another man wounded.

Officers were called to the 3800 block of Percy Street after reports a man was shot in the head just after 2 a.m.

The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he remains in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in either shooting. Both incidents remain under investigation.
