Man Killed, Woman Injured In Frankford Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Philadelphia Police are investigating an apparent attempted murder suicide that left one man dead and a female injured Thursday.

Officers were called to a home on the 5100 block of Saul Street in the Frankford section of the city after reports of a shooting just after midnight.

At the scene, police found a 33-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head and a fatally wounded male.

The woman, who was still conscious, told authorities her husband fired one shot at her head following a dispute. She said she remained still after falling to the ground. Believing she was dead, the man turned the weapon on himself.

Authorities said the female victim was taken to Einstein Medical Center with a graze wound to the head. She is expected to make a full recovery.

The incident remains under investigation.
