Suspect Killed In Shootout With Del. State Police

MILLSBORO, Del. (CBS 3) ― Delaware State Police are investigating the death of a suspect during a shootout with troopers Wednesday night.

Police were called to a home on the 30000 of River Road in Millsboro after reports of a 58-year-old man who had cut is wrist while threatening to commit suicide.

The suspect entered a shed on the property and exited with a handgun when troopers arrived at the scene. Authorities said the Troopers attempted to negotiate with the man, but he refused and opened fire.

The troopers returned fire, striking the suspect multiple times and was pronounced dead. Officials said the troopers were not injured in the incident.

The incident remains under investigation.
