Police: Jogger Sexually Assaulted In Lower Merion

ARDMORE, Pa. (CBS 3) ― Lower Merion Police are on the hunt for a sexual predator who allegedly attacked a jogger near Suburban Square Monday night.

Police said a 23-year-old female was running near Glenn and St. Georges Roads in Ardmore when she was grabbed by an unidentified male armed with a gun at about 8:30 p.m.

The suspect allegedly dragged the victim off the tree-lined roadway and into nearby shrubbery where she was sexually assaulted.

Police said the victim was able to wrestle the weapon away from the suspect while he was distracted by a passing car. She fled the scene on foot without suffering any additional injuries.

During their investigation, police determined the suspect's weapon was in fact a BB gun.

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect, who is described as a white male his 20s with a pudgy build and curly, dark blond hair. He was reportedly wearing dark shorts and a white t-shirt at the time of the attack.

Investigators released a composite sketch of the suspect late Tuesday afternoon.
