Mom Makes Special Delivery At Sesame Place
LANGHORNE, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
A family received a surprising addition during a visit to Sesame Place over the weekend.
Minutes into her family's trip to the theme park based on the popular children's television show Sesame Street, 21-year-old Takia Mann welcomed a baby girl into the world Saturday afternoon.
Mann and her two sons had been in the park just 20 minutes when she went into labor in the ladies' restroom.
"My water broke and the lady in the next stall was saying, 'Lady are you OK?' But I'm just in shock," Mann said.
Mann said she was forced to deliver her daughter Jayda on her own. The birth came as a shock, as the baby girl was not due for a few days.
Baby Jayda, who weighed in at 5 lbs., 11 ounces, along with her mom are recovering at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. On Monday, the two received a visit from a pair of Sesame Street characters who gave the family a basket of gifts, including season tickets to the park.
It is not the first time a baby has been delivered at the park. In 1994, a baby boy was brought into the world at the popular family destination.
