Down Wires Shut Down SEPTA Railways

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―

Five SEPTA rail lines have suspended service after strong winds knocked down power lines near the rails.

The lines affected are the R-1 Airport, R-5 Paoli, Cynwyd, R-7 Trenton and R-8 Chestnut Hill West.

There is no indication as to when these regional railways will reopen.

Severe thunderstorms are predicted for the entire region throughout the evening and could pose a problem fixing the down wires as conditions worsen.
