Chester County Standoff Ends In Suicide

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS 3) ― A police standoff in Chester County Monday ended with an armed gunman taking his own life.

Police said the incident began at about 5 a.m. in Pocopson Township on Route 52 near Pocopson Road when the man threatened to kill himself.

Investigators negotiated with the man for several hours before he committed suicide.

Police said the man was apparently wanted for questioning in a Center City murder and abduction early Monday morning.

Classes at nearby Pocopson Elementary School were delayed and Route 52 experienced delays during the ordeal.
