Police: Arrests Made In 'Operation Delco Nostra'

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS 3) ― During a Tuesday morning news conference, Pennsylvania State Police announced the arrests of more than a dozen suspects following a four year investigation into organized crime in Philadelphia and Delaware County dubbed "Operation Delco Nostra".

According to state police authorities, approximately 17 individuals surrendered to State Police Media Barracks to face various charges that include: participating in corrupt organizations, bookmaking and gambling, dealing in proceeds of illegal activities, loan sharking, sale of illegal drugs and fencing stolen property.

The arrests followed a four year investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Organized Crime Eastern Task Force, and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General's Organized Crime Section.

The suspects were arraigned before District Judge Walter Strohl in Lima, Delaware County.
