Montco. DA Holds Meeting To Reclaim Stolen Items
UPPER DUBLIN, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
The Montgomery County District Attorney held the first of three planned public meetings so burglary victims can identify and reclaim their stolen goods.
The meeting was held in Upper Dublin Thursday evening and some of the items included jewelry, cell phones and other valuables.
Christopher Homoney, 42, was arrested last month and charged with burglarizing three apartments in Lansdale on November 20. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman says they are investigating whether the suspect is connected to other burglaries in the county that took place from July through December 8.
"We're looking at 44 burglaries spreading from Abington to Bridgeport to Collegeville to East and West Norriton, Lansdale, Montgomery Township, Upper Dublin, Upper Providence and Whitpain," Ferman said during a November press conference.
Authorities said the suspect targeted townhomes and apartment complexes and would knock on the door and rush into the house. In some cases, the resident was home and the suspect entered when the homeowner answered the door.
The items were put on display so that police could get them back into the hands of the rightful owners.
Additional public meetings will be held at the Upper Dublin Police Department January 9, 10th.
"We're hoping that this will be an opportunity for us to identify victims of this case and that they would be able to identify their materials and help us along," Assistant District Attorney Therol Dix said.
