$133 Million Mega Jackpot Still Unclaimed

ATLANTA (AP) ― By midmorning Wednesday the winner of Friday's $133 million Mega Millions jackpot still had not contacted the Georgia Lottery to claim the prize.

The winning ticket was sold at a Chevron station in Mableton in south Cobb County.

Lottery spokeswoman Tandi Reddick said the winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the winnings and that it's not uncommon for winners to wait a few days or more.

The jackpot was worth $133 million, but if the winner chooses to take an immediate lump sum payment, the payout would be nearly $57 million after state and federal taxes are taken out.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 12 states, including New Jersey.
