Police Investigating Shocking Death Of A Teen
by Walt Hunter
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Authorities are investigating a shocking death in one of Philadelphia's up and coming neighborhoods.
Police are investigating the murder of a 19-year-old who gunned down on the streets of Northern Liberties. It happened in the 11-hundred block of North Oreanna Street, not far from the intersection of 4th and Girard.
Outside their home, the family of Patrick Spencer finds it hard to comprehend his sudden and violent death.
"It is a loss for our whole family, a big loss," said the victim's aunt, Taleah Range.
Patrick was riding his bike down his family's block on Sunday night, a block where they had lived for nearly two decades. He was shot in the head by two suspects who ran off into the darkness.
"Probably the wrong time at the wrong place and they need to be caught whoever did this," said the victim's grandfather, James Brown.
Neighbors heard the gun fire. "We heard multiple shots, between four and six shots," said a witness in the area.
Spencer's friends gathered at a growing memorial wondering why their friend was gunned down. "He did not have trouble with nobody, we love him and miss him, rest in peace," said a friend of the victim.
So far, police have no motives and or suspects. Spencer's family only knows that their loved one was brutally murdered and they want justice.
"I want the person that shot my son, I want them caught," said the victim's stepfather, Tyrone Moore, adding, "I want them to pay for what they did one way or the other."
Spencer was a student a Community College in Philadelphia and according to his stepfather, he wanted to become a chef.
Spencer's death is the 95th homicide in the city this year.
