Charges Filed In Deadly Montgomery Co. Crash
NORRISTOWN (AP) ―
Police say a suburban Philadelphia man who drank and used drugs turned his car into a lethal weapon that killed his longtime friend in a crash.
Authorities filed charges Tuesday of homicide by vehicle while under the influence against 29-year-old Joseph Cornog, of Trooper.
Prosecutors say Cornog and his friend, Adam Hunsberger, who was two days shy of his 29th birthday, were driving home from a party in July when Cornog's car went airborne, hit a curb, and flipped as many as five times.
Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele says Cornog had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.
Police say they found beer bottles in the car, and tests turned up cocaine and marijuana in Cornog's system. Cornog was seriously injured.
