Police have charged a Chester County man following the death of his young son last month.

State Police said 27-year-old Ian Kohn of Charlestown Township has been charged with homicide, endangering the welfare of children and related offenses after his 23-month-old son's death on March 17.

Rescue crews were called to Kohn's home on the 4100 block of Hollow Road after reports the child was unresponsive just before 4p.m.

The baby was rushed to Paoli Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy showed the child had consumed a large amount of methadone.

A search of Kohn's home turned up numerous drugs, including methadone, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Kohn was denied bail and is being held at Chester County Prison pending trial.
