A fugitive con artist dubbed the 'Hipster Grifter' surrendered to Philadelphia Police on charges she scammed victims out of thousands of dollars.
Kari Ferrell, 22, faces nearly $60,000 in felony fraud warrants after a series of scheme that made her one of Salt Lake City, Utah's most wanted.
Ferrell surrendered to police at a Philadelphia home just before 11 p.m. Sunday, but not before posting a video confessional on animalnewyork.com.
Salt Lake City Police helped turn Ferrell into an internet celebrity after posting a video online seeking the public's help. The charismatic suspect allegedly bilked victims out of cash by offering sexual propositions, saying she was ill with cancer or even faking pregnancies.
Additional alleged victims have posted their encounters with Ferrell online and police say additional charges could be forthcoming.
According to court documents, Farrell has outstanding warrants in Salt Lake City and the surrounding suburbs for forgery, issuing bad checks, retail theft and failure to appear.
An extradition hearing has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Criminal Justice Center in Center City.
