Young Suspects Charged In Gun Store Robbery
COLLINGDALE, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
Police arrested five people, including three juveniles, in connection with the robbery of a Delaware County gun store.
Authorities said two adults and three juveniles, the youngest of which is 11-years-old, were taken into custody following the robbery of the Suburban Armory Store on the 1000 block of MacDade Boulevard in Collingdale.
The robbery happened just after 11:30 p.m. Monday night, and police were shocked at the ages of the suspects.
"This is very scary thought, that an 11-year-old child would be involved with this type of action, and he was directly involved by the fact of the video, he was involved," said Chief Robert Adams of the Collingdale Police.
A witness saw the activity at the gun shop and called police.
The five suspects reportedly stole ammunition 15 weapons, including the store owners loaded gun, and stuffed them in a duffel bag before fleeing the scene.
Two of the suspects were spotted by a witness following the robbery at a SEPTA bus stop. All five suspects reportedly took a SEPTA bus to the scene of the crime.
"Located behind the bus stop, two duffel bags filled with 15 weapons and ammunition," said Chief Adams.
Police said the 11-year-old's mother thought her son was in bed at their home in Philadelphia.
