Gov. Corzine Takes Surprise Trip To Iraq

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) ― New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine has made a surprise visit to Iraq.

Corzine's office says the governor arrived in Iraq Tuesday and has already visited U.S. troops at Camp Bucca, a prison camp maintained by the U.S. military.

Corzine is traveling with Govs. Rick Perry of Texas and Chris Gregoire of Washington.

The governor's office says the trip was planned but kept secret because of security concerns.

Corzine will host a conference call with reporters Tuesday afternoon. He is expected to return to New Jersey later in the week.

Corzine's last official overseas trip was to Israel in July.
