Brandywine Zoo Reopens After Damaging Storm

WILMINGTON (AP) ― Delaware officials say Wilmington's Brandywine Zoo reopened Wednesday morning for the first time since a destructive storm.

Falling trees knocked out power and damaged exhibits Sunday night.
The state environmental department says power was restored Monday night.

Zoo Director Nancy Falasco says animals that were displaced by the damage have been returned to their exhibits. However, the Sandhill Cranes are in a temporary home.

Falasco says repairs are still needed to some perimeter fencing, the zoo hospital's roof and the grain shed.

She couldn't provide an estimate of damage.
