Norristown, E. Norriton & Plymouth Must Boil Water

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) ― Residents of three suburban Philadelphia communities are still being urged to boil their tap water before drinking it.

A water main break is affecting approximately 2,300 customers in parts of Norristown, East Norriton Township and Plymouth Township.

The main broke on Saturday and repairs were completed Sunday afternoon.
A Pennsylvania American Water Co. spokesman says customers who lost water service should keep boiling their drinking water until late Monday as a precaution. Those who only had low pressure, but didn't lose water service, don't need to boil their water.

Until the advisory is lifted, water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute, then allowed to cool.
