New Castle Police Arrest Serial Car Thief
WILMINGTON (CBS 3) ―
Police in New Castle County have arrested a serial car thief, who has been linked to multiple thefts at Carousel Park.
According to New Castle county Police, Anthony Lancello, 38, of Wilmington, was arrested and charged with five thefts from vehicles and is a suspect in several others.
Police say Lancello allegedly targeted vehicles parked at the "Bark Park" at Carousel Park. The thief would strike while owners were out walking their dogs in the park.
Lancallo was captured after being caught on surveillance camera at a pawn shop where he allegedly pawned stolen property on the same date as one of the thefts.
Lancallo was also caught on tape using stolen credit cards at various stores in Delaware. Police say Lancallo, who wearing the same clothing in three different videos, including the one from the pawn shop, was identified and arrested.
Lancello, who was recently arrested on probation violation charges, now faces five counts of theft and related charges.
