A Pottstown woman is fortunate to be alive after she lost control of her car and ended up in a Montgomery County creek Friday evening.
The incident happened at about 5:00 p.m. in West Pottsgrove near Manatawny Street and Sell Road.
"I was coming up around the turn and I put on my brakes to slow down and it started spinning and spinning and I ended up in a river," the driver, Rachel Loundsbury said.
Loundsbury crashed through four metal poles, skidded across a grass embankment and landed in waist-deep water in the Manatawny Creek. Fortunately, the car landed straight up and did not flip over.
Rescue crews were able to safely guide Loundsbury out of the creek by using a rope.
"I just want to say thank you so much, they did a really good job, they acted really fast and I got out and I'm fine now," Loundsbury said.
Fortunately, Loundsbury was not seriously injured.
