Wawa Celebrates 45 Years Of Business
FOLSOM, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
45 years ago, a group of milkmen delivered groceries door to
door out a small storefront, today that store has grown into a chain of successful
markets known across the Delaware
Valley as Wawa.
In celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the very first Wawa
convenience store, the company is holding an all-day, in-store celebration at
the landmark store located on 1212
MacDade Blvd in Folsom, PA.
Free coffee and Wawa Bakery treats were given away to any
visitors who stopped by and special, so-called "veteran customers,"
who frequent the shop, were honored with specially designed golden travel mugs
filled with coupons for free coffee for their commitment.
At the flagship first store the party will continue all
year-long as part of the "Year of Wawaversary" to honor other stores
throughout the chain achieving milestones of 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of
business.
