Dognappers Strike Delaware Pet Store

Three women are wanted for allegedly stealing a puppy from a Hockessin, Delaware pet store.
According to authorities, the three suspects walked into the The Pet Place in the 100 block of Lantana Drive Sunday at about 4 p.m. and quickly left the store.
When an employee went to the front of the store, she noticed a West Highland Terrier had been stolen from a play pen in the window display area.
"My employees believe two teenage girls picked up a puppy and went out the door," said store owner Tom McMillan.
Authorities said the white female puppy is valued at $600.
The theft is the second time in just over a month that a West Highland Terrier pup was stolen from the store. The puppy stolen in November was a male.
Authorities said the suspects in the November dognapping match the same description as the suspects in the December 16 incident.
The suspects are described as white females, mid to late teens, 5'2" to 5'4" tall with an average build. They were seen getting into a white sedan, possibly a Volvo with Pennsylvania tags parked in the front of the business.
State Police have obtained surveillance video from a nearby business and are asking for the public's help in apprehending those responsible.
"You can't hide a dog like you can hide a CD that you shoplift, these dogs are out there somewhere, someone has noticed the fact that someone they know has just acquired a puppy recently," Corporal Jeffrey Whitmarsh said.
