Terror Strike Drill Conducted In Chester County
EAST WHITELAND TWP., Pa. (CBS 3) ―
SWAT teams from Chester and Berks Counties conducted a mock training drill in which a terrorist took several passengers hostage aboard a SEPTA bus.
The drill took place near Route 202 in East Whiteland Township, Chester County Tuesday afternoon.
"15 to 20 seconds, it's all over, you have to be able to complete the task in 15 or 20 seconds," SWAT Commander Andy Chambers said.
The drill featured real bullets and the SWAT members were focused on saving the lives of the innocent hostages.
"If you hold in your mind the concept that your child or your loved one is on that bus or on that train or in that house, it kind of motivates you to train to the most full extent that you could possibly train," Chambers said.
The training drill was a success as they prepared for a day that they hope and pray will never come.
