Terrence Howard: Philly's Man Of The Moment

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― When it comes to star quality, few shine as brightly as Philly's own Terrence Howard. Now, the award winning actor reveals a different side as the cover star for Philadelphia Style Magazine.

In the July/August issue, Howard talks about his ties to Philly as well as his debut album 'Shine Through It.' Music may be a departure from his career as an actor, but for Howard, it's a similar form of expression.

"Acting is the music of the emotions of a person. It involves the body, the voice, it involves the heart, the lungs. It's the same thing as singing," said Howard.

A mix of soft pop rock and big band jazz, the album focuses on love, relationships and self reflection. The soulful track, 'Shine Through It' offers a glimpse into Howard's own spirituality.

"To shine through it is standing above any situation that might hold you back. More often than not, it's yourself and the clouds you create. It's about shining through that and shining through your fears."

The album doesn't hit stores until September 2nd, but the magazine issue can be found on newstands now.
