'Sex And The City' Hotspots Tour
NEW YORK (CBS 3) ―
For women of a certain style, the movie event of the summer is "Sex and the City." Four years after going off the air, the Fab Four continue their story on the big screen.
You can travel the very spots Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte went. CBS 3's Lesley Van Arsdall went along.
The "Sex and the City" movie is the first taste we've had of these fashion plates in four years.
"It's exciting! It's a great show!" said Chrissie McIntyre of New York City.
Fans who can't wait can take the Sex and the City Hotspots tour from New York City's On Location Tours. Take a walk or a bus ride to almost everywhere Carrie and company have gone.
Stephanie Schweitzer was our guide.
"So many people watch the show over and over and over again, and so there's this sort of element of giggly surprise as you drive by a location and everyone goes, 'Oh my God, yeah!'" said Stephanie.
The trip starts near Bergdorf Goodman, the shopping mecca. On the bus, there are video clips to watch and memories to share.
"Do you guys remember the fake nipples?" said Schweitzer. (The laughter suggested yes.)
We also see the Magnolia Bakery, where the girls bought cupcakes, the Bleecker Playground, and Oneils Grand Street Bar. This is Steve and Aiden's bar, and the drink of choice, of course, is the cosmopolitan.
There's also a trip down Perry Street to Carrie's stoop, and you can drink-in places like Central Park, Charlotte's art gallery, and, of course, Carrie's favorite shoe stores.
"It completes it, doesn't it?" said British fan Yvonne Eckels, "because it helps you to relate to the program more, even."
The fans come from all over the world, but not everyone on the 3-and-a-half-hour-long tour is going willingly.
Jeff Eckels said, "I don't want to take this tour! She wants to take this tour!" and pointed to the woman with him.
But the men -- who all get nicknamed Mr. Big -- sometimes know more than they let on. Some men even called out answers on the tour bus.
With the movie coming up, the tours are selling out fast at $40 a seat, but there is still room on some.
There's even a movie night package: For $130, you get the tour, tickets to the movie, and an after party. But remember cosmos cost extra. So bring your fanciest purse for your night out.
