More Details Released In Officer's Death

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Authorities released more details in the bank robbery that claimed the life of a Philadelphia Police officer as three accomplices were scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Issac Albright and 37-year-old Juanita Stephen, also known as Tonya Stephens, have been charged with hindering prosecution and related offenses in connection with the murder of Sergeant Stephan Liczbinski.

A third accomplice, Mitchell Kain, is facing charges of carjacking, robbery and related offenses.

"He said repeatedly that he feels sorry for the police officer's family. He was not involved in it and he hopes everyone understands that," said Cain's attorney Dan Stevenson.

Two suspects in the death of Sgt. Liczbinski, Eric Floyd and Levon Warner, are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

Sgt. Liczbinski was shot and killed with a high powered assault rifle after a Port Richmond bank robbery on May 3.

"It was well orchestrated, very well planned, very well thought out," said Assistant District Attorney Mark Gilson.

Authorities said the original robbery was planned for May 2 after the suspects carjacked a Jeep, but one of the accomplices, Mitchell Kain, got cold feet.

"Because he did not have a disguise or a costume to cover up his identity. Even though a costume was available for him the next day, they didn't go with him," Gilson said.

Kain's nephew, 34-year-old Howard Cain, dropped him from the plan and replaced him with Levon Warner. Howard Cain is believed to have fired the shot that killed Sgt. Liczbinski and was later gunned down by police.
