Several Injured In Route 42 Accident

BLACKWOOD, N.J. (CBS 3) ― Nearly a dozen people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that shut down the southbound lanes of Route 42 for almost an hour Monday evening.

The accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes approaching the exit for the Black Horse Pike (Route 168).

According to police, a NJ Transit bus, a sedan and conversion van were all involved in the accident.

Police said between 10-12 people were treated for various minor injuries.

The southbound lanes were closed for close to an hour as police investigated the accident. The roadway has since been reopened.

The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
