3 Years Later, Area Couple Still Missing
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Tuesday marks three years since the disappearance of an area couple. The pair was last seen leaving a bar on Philadelphia's South Street.
Mount Laurel resident Danielle Imbo, 34, and her companion, 34-year-old Richard Petrone of South Philadelphia, mysteriously vanished after a night out at Abilene's on South Street the evening of February 19, 2005.
No trace of the couple has been found since they were last seen in Petrone's black 2001 Dodge pickup.
Petrone's daughter Angela spoke with CBS 3 on Tuesday and made a plea for justice.
"I need to know what happened to my father, and even if you know something, the littlest thing, it can help the case," Angela said. "A little piece of my heart will always be gone until we find out what happened."
Petrone's family is sticking together on the somber three-year anniversary of Richard's disappearance and said the pain never goes away.
"It's a lot of sadness, and yes time goes by, you mark passings, but nothing is the same without him," Petrone's mother Marge said.
CBS 3 has learned investigators believe two were victims of a murder-for-hire plot. Petrone's pickup truck has never been located.
Imbo, mother of a 2-year-old son, was last seen wearing a jacket and cream-colored sweater. She is said to have a tattoo of flowers on her back.
Petrone's family is hoping that someone with knowledge of the crime comes forward, even if the $100,000 reward offered in the case is their motivation.
"The money is still there, it's tax-free, it's anonymous," Marge said.
