Governor Rendell will visit East
Falls Saturday night to attend a
bridge lighting ceremony on the banks of the Schulykill
River.
Rendell will officially flip the switch, showcasing white
and blue lights casting down the 600-foot long historic Falls
Bridge.
The plan for the lights stemmed from the East Falls Development
Corporation, a non-profit community based organization. The switch will be
flipped around 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Nutter will be in attendance as a special invited
guest.
The Falls Bridge
was completed in 1895 and was designed for horse-and-buggy traffic.
