Hollywood Shines Its Spotlight On Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Philadelphians are just starting to learn the art of celebrity name dropping as stars like Demi Moore, Parker Posey and Owen Wilson are in town shooting their upcoming films.

Wilson, who is starring in the film adaptation of "Marley and Me" was inside the Philadelphia Inquirer Building on Broad Street Thursday, much to the excitement of fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the star.

"I was happy. He looks a little different in person," one fan said.

Those hoping to catch a glimpse of Wilson's co-star, Jennifer Aniston, were out of luck as she was not on the set

"I was a little disappointed she wasn't in the scene today," a fan said.

Demi Moore and Parker Posey were on 13th Avenue in Prospect Park in Delaware County for their latest film 'Happy Tears', which is being shot inside a local home.

An area business owner said half the scenes are on a set built in her warehouse just down the street.

"It's good for the economy around here, helps the local little businesses like us," the business woman said.

Emily Rossum, star of the Phantom of the Opera, is also in town filming her latest movie 'Dare' in Center City with Sandra Bernhard.

Jeff Daniels just wrapped up 'Dream of the Romans' in April and the action packed blockbuster 'Transformers 2' will bring in more celebs and maybe a few robots when it begins filming in June.

The recent cinema boom has been wonderful for area businesses and tourism in the city of Philadelphia.

"It's a really big and exciting time for us right now. It's about time for Philadelphia," Greater Philadelphia Film Office's Erin Jackson said.
