Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the murder of a Bucks County native in the Virgin Islands.
James (Jamie) Cockayne, a 2005 graduate of New Hope Solebury High School, was stabbed to death outside a bar in the Virgin Islands on June 20.
Virgin Island police said Kamal Thomas of Gifft Hill was taken into custody on charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault and using a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence.
Cockayne's family was immediately notified of the Friday arrest.
Jamie had moved to St. John preparing to work at a Virgin Island yacht club.
Only hours before his death, an eyewitness reportedly saw Jamie arguing in a bar with another man.
Thomas is being held without bail and will appear in an Advice of Rights hearing in V.I. Superior Court on August 6.
