Philadelphia Police have arrested a woman caught on tape pickpocketing a customer at a Center City coffee shop.
Ciera Britton, 19, of Philadelphia, taken into custody Wednesday following the theft at the Caffeination coffee shop on Chestnut Street on May 16.
According to police, surveillance footage shows Britton and another woman posed as customers in order to target unsuspecting patrons who left their valuables unattended.
While one victim was distracted, footage shows one of the suspects surreptitiously removing a wallet from a hanging purse before passing it to her accomplice. Police said the pair would take the victim's credit cards and replace the wallet unnoticed.
Authorities said the suspects wasted no time in racking up a $2,000 bill at a local high-end department store.
Police believe the same duo have struck the same location multiple times.
Britton is charged with Criminal Conspiracy, Theft-Unlawful Taking, and Theft- Receiving Stolen Property.
Investigators are still searching for a second suspect in connection with the thefts. If you have any information, please contact Philadelphia Police.
