South Jersey Blanketed By Mysterious Odor
PAULSBORO, N.J. (CBS 3) ―
Authorities are trying to determine the source of a bad petroleum-like smell in South Jersey.
Gloucester County emergency management officials initially believed the stench that has permeated the area originated from a Valero refinery in Paulsboro.
However, a spokesperson for Valero said they are not the cause of the smell and officials have since said they are unclear of the origin.
Residents from throughout the area complained of the stench Friday morning.
The odor is reportedly not harmful, but is not necessarily pleasant either.
