Mary McFadden Honored With Visionary Woman Award

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―

The Moore College of Art and Design's 2008 Visionary Woman award went to legendary fashion designer Mary McFadden.

On Wednesday, September 24 the Moore College honored the designer whose talents in textile design, jewelry, costume crafting, interior styling and most notably women's fashion were recognized and admired by the likes of women such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

McFadden is the thirteenth Visionary Woman honoree in the school's 160-year history, a distinction that reflects Moore College's history as the first and only women's visual arts college.

The event, which was moderated by Lorie Mertes, Rochelle F. Levy Director and Chief Curator of the Galleries at Moore, featured the inaugural series of lectures entitled "Visionary Voices: Conversations on Art & Culture."
