Young Lindenwold Mother Found Stabbed To Death
LINDENWOLD, N.J. (CBS 3) ―
Authorities are investigating the stabbing death of a young mother inside her Lindenwold apartment Wednesday.
Police discovered the body of Krystal Skinner, 22, inside her apartment at the Laurel Hill apartment complex on Chews Landing Road at about 9:30 a.m.
Investigators said Skinner had been stabbed repeatedly in the chest. In a nearby room, her three-year-son was found unharmed.
Skinner's friends became concerned when she did not show up for work Wednesday. When they went to her apartment to check on her they got no answer, so her friends notified the building's maintenance staff who called police.
Neighbors said Skinner had lived in the apartment for about a year. According to neighbors, she had a volatile relationship with her former boyfriend and the two had recently been in an argument.
"The guy that lives across from them said he heard a lot of ruckus last night, but he wasn't really sure what was going on. Nobody really was sure," said neighbor Crystal Bean.
Police said Skinner's ex-boyfriend is being sought as a person of interest and his current whereabouts are unknown.
Family members said the young mother was a senior at Rutgers-Camden and was set to graduate in May to pursue a career as a social worker.
Skinner's son is reportedly in the custody of family members.
No arrests have made. The incident remains under investigation. If you have any information, please contact police.
