Police Find 'Mini-Arsenal' In Lawndale Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Police confiscated a large cache of weapons and ammunition from inside a Northeast Philadelphia home Friday.

According to police, the incident began when a Lawndale homeowner allegedly pointed a laser scope of a rifle at a neighbor during a dispute.

Police seized 74 handguns, 35 rifles and assault weapons and more than a 1,000 rounds of ammunition from a home in the 6400 block of Shelbourne Street.

The owner, Ernest Aguilera, was arrested early Friday morning following the dispute.

Investigators are attempting to determine if Aguilera purchased the weapons illegally and what his intentions were. Police said they did not find any terroristic or any other intentions.

According to residents, at least two neighbors have moved from the neighborhood after run-ins with Aguilera.

"Thank God they got him, that's all I can say right now, I'm happy inside that they got him," former neighbor Marty Ferris said.

Aguilera remains behinds bars facing a laundry list of charges.

The incident remains under investigation.
