A paralegal was arrested after being accused of stealing from her Montgomery County law firm.
Kathy Foer-Morse has been charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, Theft by Deception, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Forgery and other related Crimes.
Investigators said Foer-Morse wrote 12 checks to herself totaling more than $100,000 from the law firm of High Swartz, LLP, which is located in Norristown. Foer-Morse allegedly deposited the money into her personal bank account.
As part of the investigation, detectives learned that Foer-Morse was free on bail and awaiting sentence for stealing $285,000 from a law firm in New York City.
A search of the suspect's bank accounts revealed that the money Foer-Morse stole from High Swartz was being used to pay restitution in her open New York City case.
Foer-Morse is being held on $99,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 26.
