South Philly H.S. Teacher Charged In Sex Assault

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A South Philadelphia High School teacher has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of an investigation into allegations of sexual assault of a student.

Special Education teacher Joshua Uhrich has been charged with sexual assault of a minor, following allegations of inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old student.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, Uhrich allegedly convinced the girl he met on MySpace to meet him in Allentown and continued to see the girl for two weeks before authorities were notified.

Police said the girl informed her sister about the affair who then told their mom, who alerted authorities.

Police are continuing their investigation and said further charges are pending.
