Delaware Senator Joe Biden told a throng of reporters that he is "not the guy" when it comes to possibly being Barack Obama's running mate.
While leaving his New Castle County home in his pick-up truck Tuesday afternoon, Biden told a collection of media, "you got better things to do guys, I'm not the guy."
The speculation has been running rampant that Biden is at the top of Obama's short list of choice for vice-president.
"You like him and respect him for his knowledge on these issues and we need somebody helping running the country who knows the world, and knows the world's problems," Delaware Senator Tom Carper said.
Carper, a former two-term governor of Delaware, said he gave his personal endorsement of Biden to Obama.
Senator Obama's praise of Biden's recent foreign aid policy has many wondering if bigger things are set to come.
"That is why I am proud to join my friend Senator Joe Biden in calling for an additional $1 billion in reconstruction assistance for the people of Georgia," Obama recently said.
Biden, 65, is a six-term Senator and has made three presidential runs.
